Quick Connect

Last updated 26 days ago

The Termius Quick Connect feature is ideal for those times where you need to make a one-off connection in a hurry and aren't likely to reuse the host profile.

See below how to quick-connect.

Mobile
Desktop

On the iOS and Android versions, the Quick Connect bar is in the Terminals page, accessible from the main menu. You can also force touch the Termius icon on the iOS home screen to access the Quick Connect feature.

Use the following command to quick-connect:

ssh you@yourserver.com -p 2222

In this example, replace you with your username, yourserver.com with the hostname to connect to, and 2222 with the port number. If the port number is the default for SSH (22), you may omit the -p switch, like this:

ssh you@yourserver.com

The Termius desktop client has a top bar that allows for a manual quick connection. In this bar, type:

ssh you@yourserver.com -p 2222

In this example, replace you with your username, yourserver.com with the hostname to connect to, and 2222 with the port number. If the port number is the default for SSH (22), you may omit the -p switch, like this:

ssh you@yourserver.com

Discover Local Hosts

On the Quick Connect screen on mobile, you'll see a button under Utilities titled Discover Local Hosts. Tapping this will enable Bonjour (iOS) or Network Service Discovery (Android) to search for hosts on the same local network and allow easy quick connect to any of those hosts with discovered SSH service.

The Discover Local Hosts feature is a planned feature for the desktop.

Going Further

If you plan to frequently connect to a host, please consider adding it as a Host entry in Termius.
